As is common for KOF XV fighters, SNK Character Designer Tomohiro Nakata released a statement about Maxima after his official trailer appeared. The returning fighter is a part of Team K’ alongside K’ and Whip. It also turns out that his moveset will include a new attack.
Here’s Nakata’s full statement. After mentioning Maxima’s heavy attacks, he revealed the character will use Maxima Charge in KOF XV.
As you saw in his trailer, Maxima was the final member needed to fill up Team K’! There’s nobody else K’ would trust more than this big guy.
He joins this KOF wearing a high-end mech suit. I’d be lying if I said his mechanical design fitting for a cyborg warrior wasn’t a nightmare to get right.
If you’re a fan of big damage, then Maxima is right up your alley, as he has a lot of hard hitting moves with large guard points. He’s fitted with a new move called Maxima Charge, and so get ready to have some fun when the game drops!
Before Maxima, Nakata talked about Krohnen’s KOF XV appearance. He noted the character would be a close-range fighter. While SNK hasn’t said anything, Krohnen resembles past fighter K9999.
KOF XV will appear on February 17, 2022 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
