Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was released for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and it has been announced that the digital versions of the game are to be delisted from the 3DS and Wii U eShop next week.

 

The game will be removed from the Japanese eShop on December 27, 2017 at 10am JST. Meanwhile, fans have until 8pm ET on December 26, 2017 to download a digital copy.

 

No reason was given for the removal of the game. A new game in the series has not yet been announced for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics.

 

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is available for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
