The official Japanese website for Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey has opened, bringing a ton of new screenshots and gameplay videos for the upcoming 3DS remake.
Like the original game, Bowser will be the one to traverse the Mushroom Kingdom this time. Mario and Luigi will instead be traveling to different parts of Bowser’s body to help from within.
While Bowser doesn’t know the brothers are inside him, Mario and Luigi can do certain things like stimulating Bowser’s organs into giving him a sudden boost of strength. Meanwhile, Bowser can also accidentally help the brothers get around the body with actions like drinking water.
Mario Bros.
The Mario Bros. can do Bros. Actions in this game, such as the Spin Jump, and turn Mario into Mini-Mario by whacking him with Luigi’s hammer.

Assist & Guard
You can easily tell who the enemy is aiming for using the Assist feature. There is also the Emergency Guard that reduces the amount of taken damage.
Bowser
Bowser attacks with his powerful punches, his flames, and can also suck in enemies into his body.
He also has special attacks that utilize his minions, like the Goomba Storm below:
Finally, in certain battles, Bowser will be able to turn into a giant to fight against some enemies:
Bowser Jr.’s Journey
Bowser Jr. teams up with the Koopalings and other Bowser minions in order to take back Bowser’s Castle so that Bowser will be praise him. Battles play out similar to Bowser’s Minions mode from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions.

Bowser Jr. will need to assemble a squad of 9 characters to take on enemy groups, and amass even more followers. He can use Leader Commands to pep up the team or restore health. Sub-leaders can be appointed to increase the stats of troops and to use Sub-leader Commands. Finally, there are various Formations that can be used, with bonuses for using certain ones.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser’s Jr’s Journey will release on January 11, 2019 for Nintendo 3DS.
