Good Smile Company has revealed Moderoid plamodel kits based on Magic Knight Rayearth. The kits will let users create scaled reproductions of the three legendary guardians from the classic manga and anime franchise.
Other than the eponymous Rayearth associated with the protagonist Hikaru Shidou, the collection will also feature Umi’s Ceres (also known as Selece) and Fuu’s Windom.
The three Rayearth Moderoid kits are available for purchase separately at $48.99 each. You can pre-order them up until September 22, 2021. Good Smile Company will officially release the kits in March 2022 in Japan and May 2022 in the United States.
Moderoid is a series of plastic model kits produced by Good Smile Company. Similar to Gunpla and other plamodels, these kits will come with part runners that users have to cut and assemble manually. Prior to Rayearth, the company had made Moderoid kits based on other mecha franchises like Mazinkaiser, Shinkalion, and Patlabor.
Magic Knight Rayearth is one of CLAMP’s classic titles. It originated as a manga series in 1993 and received an anime adaptation in 1994. Bandai Namco also included Rayearth in the 2019 mecha crossover game Super Robot Wars T, which is currently available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan and Asia. In early 2021, Ichiban Kuji released make-up palettes inspired by Rayearth and Cardcaptor Sakura to celebrate CLAMP’s 30th anniversary.
