Lynn And The Spirits Of Inao Is A Love Letter To Hayao Miyazaki’s Worlds

Bloomylight Studio isn’t being shy about where it’s taking the majority of its cues from when designing the look and feel of its 2D action platformer Lynn and the Spirits of Inao.

It is, of course, the magical animations of Hayao Miyazaki – Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke especially. That’s why, in one scene in the new trailer (above), Lynn runs across a grassy field from which whales rise from the dry soil and fly through air alongside her.

Surprising moments like this will happen again and again throughout Lynn and the Spirits of Inao. It’s a platformer at heart, but you’re given an open world to explore to discover the island of Iano’s beautiful secrets.

Your main task, however, is to find out why the spirits – who usually live alongside humans in harmony – have created a air of torment across the island, striking fear into the island’s citizens.

You can vote for Lynn and the Spirits of Inao on Steam Greenlight. There’s more information about the game on its website.
