Genshin Impact’s first five-star Fontaine character Lyney works best with specific Artifacts to pull off his magic tricks. The magician has a unique gameplay mechanic that uses his health in an interesting way to determine damage. This means the newest set is probably the one you should use.
Which Artifacts should I use with Lyney in Genshin Impact?
Lyney’s best Artifact in Genshin Impact is the new Marechaussee Hunter set, which can be found in Fontaine’s Denouement of Sin Domain of Blessing. The Genshin Impact 4.0 Artifact set not only buffs his Charged Attack by 15% but also raises his CRIT Rate by 12% each time his health is raised or lowered. This works perfectly with Lyney, because his HP is decreased every time he uses a full-charged attack with his bow and he also heals himself whenever he uses his Elemental Skill to consume his Grim-Malkin Hat.
If you don’t have enough Resin to grind out the new Fontaine Artifacts, don’t worry! HoYoVerse created quite a few alternative sets that work just as well with the five-star Pyro hero. With Lyney’s damage mainly scaling from his ATK stat, the Vermillion artifact is another great pick. After using his Elemental Burst Miracle Parade, the set increases his ATK% by 8% for 16 seconds. Just like Marechaussee Hunter, Vermillion also buffs his damage every time his HP is decreased, making it a similar second option. Even the free-to-play Martial Artist set is extremely potent, as it boosts his Charged Attack every time he uses his Elemental Skill.
Below is the list of the best Artifacts for Lyney in Genshin Impact:
- Marechaussee Hunter – 2-Piece: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%. 4-Piece: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for five seconds. Max three stacks.
- Vermillion – 2-Piece: ATK +18%. 4-Piece: After using an Elemental Burst, gain the Nascent Light effect, increasing ATK by 8% for 16 seconds. When the character’s HP decreases, their ATK will further increase by 10%. This further increase can occur this way a maximum of four times. This effect can be triggered once every 0.8 seconds. Nascent Light will be dispelled when the character leaves the field. If an Elemental Burst is used again during the duration of Nascent Light, the original Nascent Light will be dispelled.
- Gladiator’s Finale – 2-Piece: ATK +18%. Crimson Witch of Flames – 2-Piece: Pyro DMG Bonus +15%.
- Crimson Witch of Flames – 2-Piece: Pyro DMG Bonus +15%. 4-Piece: Increases Overloaded, Burning, and Burgeon DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using an Elemental Skill increases 2-Piece Set effects by 50% for 10 seconds. Max three stacks
- Wanderer’s Troupe – 2-Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. 4-Piece: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or a Bow.
- Martial Artist – 2-Piece: Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 15%. 4-Piece: After using Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 25% for eight seconds.
Here’s what stats you should focus on rolling on Lyney’s Artifacts:
- Sands: ATK.
- Goblet: Pyro DMG.
- Circlet: CRIT DMG.
- Substats Priority: CRIT DMG, Energy Recharge > CRIT Rate > ATK%
The main stat you should focus on with Lyney is CRIT DMG, as his CRIT Rate is actually raised automatically every time you ascend him. If you have the Marechaussee Hunter set equipped, the 5-Star magician’s critical stat will only further be raised. Most of the best Lyney weapons are also centered around CRIT Rate, so you should try to get his damage up as much as possible. Make sure not to neglect his Energy Charge stat as well, as you will want to be able to use his Elemental Burst as much as possible to do really big numbers of damage.
