Good news for people who wanted to play the Key visual novel Little Busters! on their Nintendo Switch systems, but maybe didn’t want to deal with the hassles of importing the Japanese version that has English subtitles. There won’t be any hoops to jump through. April 23, 2020 isn’t only the Japanese launch date, it’s a worldwide one. Prototype will release Little Busters! Switch on the Nintendo eShop everywhere that day.
There are some limitations to the worldwide release. First is that the official tweet says Little Busters! Converted Edition will only be available digitally via the eShop. Physical copies will be sold in Japan, have English subtitles, and be region-free, so someone could always import a copy if they prefer to have a cartridge.
The second is that there will only be Japanese voice-acting in the Little Busters! Switch version. However, this isn’t uncommon for many localized visual novels.
People can “meet” all of the Little Busters! characters in the newly released opening movie for this version of the Converted Edition and see people like Riki, Rin, Haruka, Kengo, Komari, Kyosuke, and Masato.
The Little Busters! Switch debut is set for April 23, 2020 worldwide. It is immediately available in every region on PCs, with the localized version on Steam as Little Busters! English Edition. It also appeared on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita in Japan.
