By Some of you might have already seen images from the unusual collaboration between Square Enix and Louis Vuitton, featuring Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning as the model for the iconic fashion brand’s upcoming Spring-Summer collection. Now we have a glimpse of the ad campaign out in the world, specifically at a Louis Vuitton store located in Taipei. (Thanks to Steve for the tip.)

At first, choosing the Final Fantasy XIII protagonist to be the model for the French luxury brand may seem like an unusual decision. However, the theme of the collection is centered around exploring a virtual universe and a heroine who is described as “initiating a quest, a heroic journey in which the protagonist gains strength every step of the way,” a role which Lightning seems perfectly suited for.
Strangely enough, this Louis Vuitton collaboration isn’t Lightning’s modeling debut. Back in 2012, Prada Japan used her and other Final Fantasy XIII-2 characters to model the brand’s Summer collection.
