A couple years back, Square Enix held a special in-game event in Final Fantasy XIV to help promote the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. During these “Lightning Strikes” events, players were able to obtain special Final Fantasy XIII-inspired equipment, including Lightning or Snow’s hairstyle and clothes, depending on the character’s gender, as well as recognizable weapons. [Thanks, DualShockers.]

Unfortunately, since the the event has long since passed, newer players not around for the events were never able to obtain the Final Fantasy XIII items for themselves. However, Community Rep Fazraye recently announced on the Japanese official forums that all the items from the Lightning Strikes events will soon become available on the Mog Station. Players will be able to purchase Snow’s hairstyle and clothes together in a set, or Lightning’s hairstyle and clothes in a set. Weapons from the events will also be available, and players will be able to pick the one of their choice, but they will be sold separately.

Additionally, there will be no weapons available for the Ninja, Dark Knight, Machinist, or Astrologian jobs, as these did not exist when the event first took place.

Square Enix has yet to announce the exact release date for these Final Fantasy XIII items.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is available for PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
