Lenin is an albino lion, one who is bullied and hated for his appearance. Even his own mother asks why he was born this way, leaving the adorable animal feeling depressed and alone. With the player’s help, and that of some odd animals in a surreal world, they may be able to make him feel a bit better in puzzle-based RPG Lenin The Lion.
Lenin’s life is difficult, and it’s up to the player to help him through it. Whether that be by deciding whether to help the other animals with their problems, or what to do when a bully wants to hit him, they will slowly guide the story in a few directions. They will want to take care with what they decide to do, though, as things are getting more and more hostile toward Lenin.
There is another place that Lenin can escape to, though. Players can access a strange place that is outside of normality, and they may find that the animals there are a lot more friendly toward Lenin, even if the realm can get a little odd. However, the animals here may help him better understand himself and his place in the world, as well as help him build up the courage to confront his fears and enemies.
Lenin The Lion focuses heavily on story and the progression of Lenin’s personality, but also features some puzzle-solving to work on as they explore and interact with the people of both worlds.
Development for Lenin The Lion is currently seeking funding through Catarse, and has a demo available through Itch.io to entice potential backers.
