Koei Tecmo shared the latest on their upcoming all-star title, Musou Stars, with new screenshots and details on how Atelier Sophie’s protagonist Sophie and Plachta play in the upcoming hack and slash title.
Plachta (CV: Yuka Iguchi)
From: Atelier series
An old book that was stored on a bookshelf in an atelier. She was awakened after Sophie wrote a recipe into the book, and since then has become a teacher figure who teaches Sophie alchemy. Afterwards, her soul was moved into that of a doll, and she gained the ability to walk and do much more in her new human form. Most of her memories have gone lost after being dormant for so long.
Plachta uses a “Drive Device Weapon” to attack enemies in battle. The Drive Device Weapon was something Plachta created with alchemy, and uses it as an item to fight enemies. While she doesn’t use alchemy herself, she uses items created through alchemy.
Plachta’s “Rain Shoot” is an attack that shoots down light from the skies above. She’s able to attack with physical attacks using her Drive Device, but also use magic-like attacks as well.
“Light Fall” is another one of her attacks, where she shoots lasers from the fingertips of the Device Drive Weapon. Plactha is able to perform all kinds of attacks with her weapon.
For example, the “Two-Hander” attack involves the device holding a sword while spinning in circles to blow away enemies.
Sophie
Next up, we got some details on Atelier Sophie protagonist, Sophie.
“Reherun” (Ice Bomb) is an attack that involves tossing an ice-filled bomb at enemies to deal ice-attribute damage.
She’ll also through the familiar “Flam” (Bomb) to blow up enemies. Using items created through alchemy, Sophie can instantly blow up a bunch of enemies at once with her flashy action. Again, you’ll get to synthesize and use Bombs that are way bigger than you’d imagine when looking back at Bombs from previous Atelier titles.
The electric “Donor Stone” (Lightning Bomb) can be used to bring out the power of thunder.
And finally, here’s a look at how Sophie will get to use some “Uni” that she has packed in her bag to toss at enemies. She tosses out a bunch of Uni that scatter for damaging enemies within a range.
Musou Stars releases in Japan in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
