More information came out about the new Pokemon anime series, including trailers and voice actor announcements. The trailer focuses on the Paldean Pokemon, as well as Liko and her Sprigatito. As a reminder, the new Pokemon anime series will start airing on April 14, 2023.
The new anime trailer not only reiterates information about the main characters, but gives us our first listen to their voices as well. So far, we know who will be the voice actors for the three main characters in the Pokemon anime:
- Liko: Minori Suzuki (Angie Yonaga in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony)
- Roy: Yuka Terasaki (Tenma Matsukaze in Inazuma Eleven GO)
- Professor Friede: Taku Yashiro (Ephraim in Fire Emblem Engage)
Liko’s voice actress was born in 1997, which means that she shares a birth year with the Pokemon anime. She stated in her interview that Pokemon has always been part of her life. As such, she felt a strong passion to voice Liko when she saw the character information on the audition papers — something like destiny — so she is grateful to the anime staff for the opportunity.

Both Liko and Roy are the protagonists of the new anime. Liko has a mysterious pendant, whereas Roy has a strange Poke Ball. As for Professor Friede, his partner is Captain Pikachu. Ikue Otani, who has voiced Pikachu since the original series began, reprised her role in the new anime.
The new Pokemon anime series, which focuses on Paldea, will start airing from April 14, 2023. The first episode will be an hour-long special.
