Birds of Steel isn’t the only game Gaijin Entertainment are developing for Konami. They’re also working on a hack-and-slash game titled Blades of Time, starring Ayumi, a treasure hunter. Ayumi finds herself stuck on a possessed island while searching it for treasure, and discovers it has special powers that she can take for herself.
Wait, Ayumi? That’s the name of the girl in X-Blades, and Gaijin Entertainment worked on that title, too. Yes, Blades of Time sounds like a successor to the game.
Konami say Blades of Times will have huge locales, including jungles, snow areas, ancient cities, temples and sky islands. You’ll have over 40 sets of skills to choose from, spanning melee, tactics, combos, and Order and Chaos magic.
You’ll also be able to perform a cool-sounding “Time Rewind” move that allows Ayumi to produce a clone of herself to help solve puzzles and take down enemies. There’s a dash ability to help you quickly close the distance between yourself and your opponents, too. Finally, Konami say Blades of Time has both cooperative and player vs. player multiplayer modes.
Blades of Time is in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Konami are targeting a 2012 release.
