Konami Announces Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus

portableopsplus.jpgIf you're one of the many PSP owners whose played Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and thoroughly enjoyed both its single player campaign and multiplayer component, even if almost everyone and their mother cheats, then you'll be glad to know Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops +

Portable Ops + can be seen as a revised version of Portable Ops, but it really isn't. Portable Ops + is essentially a multiplayer expansion pack complete with new characters (as can be evidenced by the images past the break) and new missions. Konami is also adding a new single player mode titled Infinity Mission. The game is set for release in Japan on 9/20 with absolutely no information regarding a U.S. release; but knowing Konami and the previous "enhancements" the previous MGS games received (Substance and Subsistence), Portable Ops + may just see a U.S. release.

Here's hoping Konami also rectifies the many problems (re: cheaters) the online multiplayer aspect of the game faces. The game will be released in two different packages; the expansion game will be sold alone for 2,400 yen ($19 USD), and another package, which includes Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops itself, will be sold for 4,300 yen ($35).
