During Sony’s PlayStation State of Play stream on October 27, 2021, SNK revealed Dolores as the latest addition to the KOF XV roster. Following the new character trailer, it was also revealed that the KOF XV Open Beta Test is scheduled to take place on the PS4 and PS5. It will be held from November 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM PST until November 22, 2021 at 6:59 AM PST. The beta test will include eight characters: Kyo, Iori, Chizuru, Shun’ei, Shermie, Chris, Yashiro, and Dolores.

Dolores is one of the newest characters to join the franchise. (The first King of Fighters title released back in 1994.) She looks to be a close-range fighter with the ability to punch rock formations into her enemies. During September 2021’s Tokyo Game Show, fighters K’ and Isla were introduced. Isla is another one of the new characters. However, she has a power involving “hands,” just like Team Hero member Shun’ei. The final game will include 39 characters at launch, with the potential for more as DLC content.
The King of Fighters XV is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 17, 2022. The KOF XV open beta will be held on the PS4 and PS5 between November 19-22. 2021.
