This new trailer shows a sneak peek of Ash’s actions in KOF XV. The character can be distinguished by his Pyrokinesis ability that generates green flames. Some of his special moves will let him launch projectiles and imbue his attacks with the uniquely colored flames.

Ash Crimson is the protagonist of the Tales of Ash saga, which spanned from the tenth mainline game KOF 2003 to KOF XIII. Ash did not appear as a playable character in KOF XIV, but part of the game’s storyline did imply that he would return in a future title.

SNK previously confirmed Ash Crimson’s appearance in KOF XV with a longer trailer at the gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live. It revealed that all four series heroes — Kyo Kusanagi, K’, Ash Crimson, and Shun’ei — will appear in this game’s roster. K’ is the only protagonist yet to receive his own character trailer as of this writing.

The King of Fighters XV will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 17, 2022.
