We have gotten a few details regarding the upcoming Monster Rancher 2 port via the latest issue of Famitsu? For example, we learned that the game will include the PocketStation minigame. Now Koei Tecmo officially revealed the port, the first screenshots of the game on smartphones and Nintendo Switch, and asked for Monster Rancher 2 CD database suggestions.
Improvements that Monster Rancher 2 brought to the series included more fully-realized 3D graphics, a new Part-time Job minigame, and more than 200 new species for a total of over 400 species of monsters to raise. As previously revealed, the game will support save data carried over from the first game. You will be able to bring your monsters into the second game, so long as you’re playing the sequel on the same platform as the first. Other features carried over from the port of the first game include the ability to play against others locally with Joy-Cons, support for Bluetooth controllers, and a tournament mode.
Despite all the improvements, Monster Rancher 2 is also well-known for having some prominent game-breaking bugs. These have been fixed in the port, all while keeping the graphics the same. Some of the improvements were made based on fan feedback.
Currently, Koei Tecmo is accepting submissions from fans regarding ideas for what new CD releases to add to the Monster Rancher 2 CD database, as well as suggestions for what monsters should be added to the game.
