Square Enix will host a Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event at its Square Enix Cafe location in Akihabara, Tokyo. An event will also be held at the Artnia location in Shinjuku. Square Enix will begin accepting reservations on March 14, 2022. The Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event at the Square Enix Cafe and Artnia café will be held from March 26 to May 6, 2022. The event itself will be split in two parts. The first part of the event will begin on March 26 and last until April 15, 2022. The second part of the event will be held from April 16 to May 6, 2022. During this period, consumers can obtain a total of six placemats and 10 coasters. However, four placemats have been exclusively designed for the Square Enix Cafe collaboration. This means that these particular placemats will only be available to obtain by eating at the Square Enix Cafe location. Consumers will receive one placemat for every order of food. Menu items for the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary collaboration will be revealed at a later date.

In January 2022, Square Enix announced a special Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event. It will include a Q&A segment with the developers, a mini concert, and an exhibition. Tickets were available to obtain through a lottery system. The event will occur on April 10, 2022 in Tokyo, Japan.
