Kid Icarus: Uprising doesn’t release until March, even in Japan, but the pre-release festivities are kicking off on the Japanese Nintendo eShop next week. Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters for the Game Boy is next week’s Virtual Console release.

Among other features, Of Myths and Monsters added the ability to flap Pit’s wings in mid-air to slow his descent.

Interestingly, this game was originally only released in North America and Europe, so this is the first time Japanese players will get to play an official release.

Screenshots on Nintendo’s eShop page for the game display English text, and the game retains its original English title, too. Additionally, Nintendo confirm in their summary that the game will be displayed in English.

Technically, that makes Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters the first reverse-import 3DS Virtual Console game in Japan.

Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters will be available on February 8th for 400 yen.
