Last month, PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura teamed up with Gitaroo Man creator Keiichi Yano to announce their Project Rap Rabbit, a rhythm-action adventure game. The game began a Kickstarter campaign with the ambitious goal of $1,107,706. Sadly, the Kickstarter page has been updated with a message from its creators announcing that Project Rap Rabbit’s campaign has failed to meet its goal by a large margin, raising only $162,000 from 2,920 backers.

This has prompted development on the game to come to a halt, since there are not enough funds to further production. However, fans shouldn’t despair quite yet as the game’s creators say they are “more determined than ever to bring Project Rap Rabbit to life,” and that the project “hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
