Key Are Putting Their Visual Novels On iPhone, Too

Recommended Videos

Key are starting to put their visual novels on the iPhone, too. Planetarian, released by them in 2004, was the studio’s second all-ages visual novel. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, where mankind is virtually extinct, following years of warfare.

The story begins at a planetarium, where the game’s protagonist runs into a female android named Yumemi, while scavenging for useful items. While originally released on PC, the game was later ported to the PlayStation 2 as well.

Planetarian is only available in Japanese on iTunes, and costs 350 yen. Hoshi no Hito: Planetarian Side Story was released a couple of weeks ago as well, and is available for the same price. Both titles are also available on the Android marketplace.

Additionally, Key owner Visual Art’s are putting other visual novels on Android as well. Kanon is currently available for Android devices, and so is Clannad.
