Take a blender—-a metaphorical brain blender–and toss Funimation, My Hero Academia, and AEW wrestler/former NJPW heavyweight champion Kenny Omega in it. That’s how you get this news story. Funimation is running FunmationCon 2020, an online event featuring two days of streams, cosplay activities, and voice actor and anime industry Q & As. Funimation recently announced more details on some of the events, and one of those events is a Kenny Omega My Hero One’s Justice 2 tournament. Also, the voice actors from the series are the ones fighting.
Kenny Omega, who once channeled the power of Sans from Undertale to win a wrestling match, will be hosting this event, which is being called an “esports challenge” for some reason. The billed, as the press release includes an “and more,” voice talent involved will be Justin Briner, Clifford Chapin, Chris Sabat, Patrick Seitz, and Ricco Fajardo. That’s Deku, Bakugo, All Might, Endeavor, and Mirio, respectively.
The matches in the Kenny Omega My Hero One’s Justice 2 Esports Challenge will be based on events in the series, pitting actor against actor in fights that recreate showdowns that took place in the My Hero Academia show.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 is available for the PS4, the Xbox One, the PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
