Kazumasa Habu has posted on his Twitter (X) account that he is no longer the producer of the Digimon games. According to his Tweet, he was removed from the position in April 2023 and has been working on passing the baton over to his successor.
In the Tweet, Habu explains that this was due to a personnel change within the company and that he trusts the new director to develop the next Digimon Story game. So he hopes that fans will not worry about the quality. In a follow-up Tweet, Habu states that his biggest treasure in life is the fact that he could work on Digimon and see the passion that fans have for the series. He thanks all of the fans for loving his work and hopes they will continue to do so in the future.
Kazumasa Habu worked on the Digimon games between 2010 and 2022. He was a producer for all of the roles except Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, in which he was a production assistant. Games that Habu produced include Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Digimon All-Star Rumble, and Digimon Survive.
