By Earlier this week, Spike Chunsoft released a new trailer for Katanakami, the Way of the Samurai spinoff that takes place again in Rokkotsu Pass with familiar faces.
The trailer goes over the story, where you are helping the blacksmith Gunji Dojima to retrieve his daughter from the debt collector. A lone samurai appears to help Dojima by traversing the other world to find katanas and materials to forge katanas to sell for money. Unbeknownst to everyone, this samurai will also be the crux of a swirling war between the three clans vying for control of Rokkotsu Pass.
Dungeon exploration takes place in the other world, and the dungeons themselves are procedurally-generated. Players battle demons and yokai in the other world, using sword techniques that may also differ depending on which sword and stance you have equipped.
Finally, the trailer shows off multiplayer, confirming it for the game. You’ll be able to play with others in a cooperative or antagonistic fashion in dungeons.
