Bandai Namco revealed that Katamari Damacy Reroll will make its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. It will be available in Japan on November 19, 2020. The Japanese official website for the game has also been updated to include the newly confirmed platforms. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Katamari Damacy Reroll is a remaster of the first-ever Katamari Damacy game that was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The game is best well-known for its exciting gameplay system, where the player rolls a Katamari that gradually grows bigger as it can roll up literally anything, from coins to buildings. Most of the stages challenged the player to grow the Katamari to a certain size within the time limit.
Reroll was previously released for the Nintendo Switch and PC in December 2018. The new ports mean that Reroll will also be the first Katamari Damacy game to be available directly on both the PS4 and Xbox One.
The last series titles available on their predecessors were Katamari Forever on the PlayStation 3 and Beautiful Katamari on the Xbox 360, respectively. Although it is technically possible to play Katamari Forever on the PS4 with PlayStation Now, Beautiful Katamari has still yet to be included in the list of backward-compatible Xbox 360 games as of this writing.
Katamari Damacy Reroll is currently available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be released on November 19, 2020. Note that in Japan, the Xbox One release will be only available digitally.
