Spike Chunsoft announced that Kamaitachi no Yoru x3 will include the main stories of the first two games. As well, the Switch version will have an arranged soundtrack of the first game as a bonus feature. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Kamaitachi no Yoru x3 first came out in 2006 and the upcoming PS4, PC, and Switch release will be a port of that. The third game (which concludes the entire series) will also include the POVs of multiple characters, letting you check out other perspectives in the plot. The English version of Kamaitachi no Yoru is Banshee’s Last Cry, and it’s a sound novel murder mystery. You’re able to pick different dialogue options to continue the story. There aren’t many visuals or CGs, with text over top of backgrounds and silhouettes.
The first game takes place in a popular ski lodge. Though the guests have a good time, they discover an eerie message predicting that someone will die at midnight. Then, someone actually does. Unable to escape from the ski lodge and cut off from the outside world, the guests have to figure out the culprit before they fall victim. The second game takes place on Mikazuki-jima during the Meiji era. The characters from the first game are invited to the island, but once again, murders happen and they must figure out the culprit, among other mysteries.
Kamaitachi no Yoru x3 will come out on September 19, 2024 for the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam.
