Jump Rope Challenge Isn’t Leaving the eShop

We were supposed to see Jump Rope Challenge removed from the Nintendo eShop on September 30, 2020, but Nintendo appears to have changed its mind. The company tweeted out today that the small eShop title will be staying on the digital storefront for now. The game was scheduled to leave tomorrow.

Nintendo made the following tweet, while also celebrating the milestone that players have performed over 2.5 billion jumps.

Originally promoted as a free game and only available for a limited time, the game was reportedly made during quarantine by developers working from home in Japan. The devs wanted to keep people active, and Jump Rope Challenge intends to add quick and fun physical movement into players’ daily lives.

Given the game received another update with new features just earlier in September 2020, it would’ve been a shame to see the game leave the store so soon. (A previous update added costumes inspired by other Nintendo characters.)

Jump Rope Challenge is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop for free.
