The official Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account has revealed who the artists for the opening and ending of season 2 will be. Kitani Tatsuya will sing the opening, and the title of the song is “Blue House.” Soushi Sakiyama will be the singer of the ending, which has the title “Lantern.” [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]
MAPPA will play a snippet of the opening during MAPPA STAGE on May 21, 2023. It will be a part of the new trailer, which will debut on that date as well. Both Kitani and Sakiyama have commented (directly and indirectly) that their songs are about Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo. The second season looks like it will start with a flashback to Gojo’s school days when he and Geto were friends.
Sakiyama straight up explained that his song is about how Geto’s experiences and pain changed his philosophy on the world, and how the characters around him react to that. He also stated that he is very honored to have his song featured in a work as great as Jujutsu Kaisen. Kitani’s comment is much more poetic and abstract. However, it’s clearly referencing the day when Gojo and Geto had their split, but from Gojo’s perspective.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will start airing in July 2023. While part of the opening will be in the new trailer of Jujutsu Kaisen 2 (which will come out on May 21, 2023), we might have to wait a bit longer to hear the ending.
