Another new Star Wars game from EA is on the way. This time, it’s Star Wars: Squadrons, a single and multiplayer-based affair that focuses on hopping into A-wings, TIE fighters, and X-wings to face off against other opponents in space in first-person shootouts. It will be launching on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 2, 2020. It will be $39.99.
What’s especially interesting is what other sorts of support this particular game has. There’s the solo campaign, which takes place during the original trilogy’s Galactic Civil War. If someone goes online, they can face off in 5v5 matches. If someone has a VR headset for their PlayStation 4 or PC, they can even use that to play.
Speaking of that, online will be interesting. Star Wars: Squadrons will support online cross-play for every possible platform.
Here’s the first trailer.
While this is only the first look, more will be seen soon. EA Play 2020, which will be held on June 18, 2020, will feature more gameplay taken from the first-person game.
Star Wars: Squadrons will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 2, 2020. If you go with a PC version, you’ll be able to find it on Epic Games Store, Origin, and Steam. It is the latest new Star Wars game since 2019’s Star Wars Jedi.
