Jigen Daisuke Live-Action Movie Appears Worldwide in October

A new live-action movie titled Jigen Daisuke and focused on the sharpshooter character from the Lupin the Third series will release worldwide on October 13, 2023 for Amazon Prime Video. Tetsuji Tamayama reprises his role as Jigen Daisuke, after having played the character in the 2014 live action movie Lupin III. A key visual, as well as a teaser trailer, showed up as well. The story of the new film sees the character visiting Japan for the first time in years to find the world’s best gunsmith so they can repair his beloved Combat Magnum. Hajime Hashimoto is in charge of directing the new movie, with Yoshimasa Akamatsu writing the screenplay for it.

Lupin the Third was created in 1967 by author Kazuhiko Katō, better known under the Monkey Punch pen name. The series follows the adventures of master thief Lupin III and his gang, composed of his best friend and marksman Daisuke Jigen, master swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII, and professional criminal Fujiko Mine.

The upcoming Jigen Daisuke live-action movie will appear worldwide on October 13, 2023 as an Amazon Prime Video release.
