During the Japanese June 2023 Nintendo Direct covering Switch games, a new trailer for Fate/Samurai Remnant came out. It showed a bit more of what the game will look like. The protagonist is Iori Miyamoto and his Servant is Saber. Jeanne d’Arc Alter will also appear as an enemy Servant, though it’s unclear what Class she would manifest under in Fate/Samurai Remnant.

The story of Fate/Samurai Remnant takes place during the Keian era. Since he’s a samurai, Iori can fight in combat as well instead of solely relying on his Servant. In the story, Iori and Saber are participants in a Holy Grail War-like ritual. His bond with Saber is a key part of the gameplay. You can raise their combination gauge around town or in combat, and use them in battle.

There’s not much information on the Waxing Moon Ritual that Iori and Saber will be participants of. However, the presence of Jeanne d’Arc Alter in Fate/Samurai Remnant implies that it will not be a normal one. Since Jeanne d’Arc Alter, or “Jalter,” is not a traditional heroic hero, she should not be a Servant that someone can summon.

Fate/Samurai Remnant will come out on September 28, 2023 on the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam.
