While we’re discussing differences between regional Sony releases, let’s shift gears to Motorstorm. Sony released Motorstorm in Japan in December ’06. The rest of the world didn’t get it until March ’07. During the three month delay online play was added and later released in patch form for Japan.

On May 22, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is re-releasing Motorstorm, this time with online play and 62 items of downloadable content. The package is being sold under the name Motorstorm Complete and will cost 4,980 yen ($50). At that price Motorstorm Complete is probably an import faux pas. However, it would be great if Sony Computer Entertainment America sold Motorstorm Complete as the Greatest Hits version whenever they get around to releasing budget PS3 games. You know they are coming.
