Software sales were down in the U.S. for the month of January. Software dollar trends in January 2014 were down 25% as compared to January 2013, the NPD Group said this afternoon.
This is primarily due to the slide in performance of titles that were released this past November and December, which decreased 36%. (Or 20%, when you take into account that January 2013 was a 5-week tracking period, and Jan. 2014 was four weeks.)
Here are the top-ten sellers for January 2014 in the U.S.:
