Jack Jeanne English Switch Otome Localization Confirmed

Tokyo Ghoul creator Sui Ishida’s Switch otome visual novel and rhythm game Jack Jeanne is finally going to get its English release. Way back in 2019, Broccoli announced via the official Twitter account that a localization was being considered. Now in March 2022, the same account confirmed English and Traditional Chinese localizations are in the works.

Here’s the official announcement. It confirmed that while there will be English and Traditional Chinese text in Jack Jeanne, the voice acting and songs will remain in Japanese.

Like otome games like Kenka Banchou Otome and Hana-Kimi: Boys Love You, Jack Jeanne stars a young woman who enrolled at an all-boys school in disguise. Kisa Tachibana wants to be an actor like her brother, and so heads to the Univer Theater Academy he went to. Your goal is to help Kisa get the leading role, while also hiding her true identity. As it is an all-boys school, men play male (Jack) and female (Jeanne) parts in shows.

As this is a Switch otome game, there is an opportunity to have Kisa find love with other attendees. Also, while this does have visual novel elements, the performances are all rhythm games.

Here’s one trailer showing off an in-game performance and some of the story segments.

And this commercial shows what it is like to raise Kisa’s stats or play the rhythm game portion.

Jack Jeanne is available for the Nintendo Switch in Japan, and English and Traditional Chinese localizations are on the way.
