Hong Kong variety/game show Boom Boom Ba is all about music, not video games. A recent episode bucked the trend and dipped into game territory in a silly way.
One contestant would hit falling notes by hitting drums similar to Taiko no Tatsujin. The twist is the drums and other percussion instruments were strapped to the heads of other players. When a player’s drum was hit they would sing a note. They even set up a percentage counter to record scores. How high tech! The amount of money a player won was tied to their performance. Expert Rock Band and Taiko no Tatsujin players take note, each percent was worth $100 HKD ($13). So, if you got a full combo you would walk home with an extra $10,000 HKD ($1,300) in your pocket.
