Spike’s sequel to Danganronpa, a rapid fire logic game where you had to outsmart a murderer with the right words, moved from a high school to a southern island.
Set directly after the first title, Super Danganronpa 2: Farewell, Campus of Despair has Mono-Bear ready for a luau and murder. Under the blue sky and white clouds, this island with Mono-Bear mountain monuments turned into a crime scene. That means there’s also another lighting speed class trial to solve. Since the suspects’ characters’ names are ??? it isn’t clear if they are new or returning characters, Famitsu raises this question in their article too. Super Danganaronpa 2 has a new system where you can counter arguments with objections. (Queue Phoenix Wright sound byte.)
The game uses what Spike calls 2.5D motion graphics, a blend of 3D backgrounds and 2D characters gives their game the feel of a pop up book. Super Danganronpa 2: Farewell, Campus of Despair doesn’t have an announced release window. Head over to Famitsu to see more screenshots of the PSP game.
