Is NieR Two Separate Games?

Famitsu indicates something curious is going on with NieR. The latest issue lists NieR Gestalt only as an Xbox 360 game with a 2010 release window. If you recall, the game was supposed to be multiplatform for both high-def consoles.

Perhaps, that’s why there’s another listing for NieR Replicant, a game on which no details — including platform — have been divulged. All we have for now is a picture of a lady. Nier’s wife or infected daughter perhaps? It’s quite likely this is the PS3 version.

Is Square releasing two separate console exclusive versions of NieR? Maybe one to appeal to their different Eastern and Western markets? That would be ingenious.
