Last month, we discovered a trademark filed by Capcom in the USA for “Mega Man Universe.” Since Capcom trademarks have a tendency to eventually surface in the form of games, we presumed Mega Man Universe was to be their next significant project in the franchise. Capcom’s financial strategies report for the ongoing fiscal year, however, makes mention of a project titled Mega Man Online, being developed in collaboration with online Korean games company, Neowiz.
Judging by the format of the report (pictured above), the project is part of an effort to expand into online PC gaming, and also into Asian markets such as South Korea and China.
Whether or not Mega Man Online and Mega Man Universe are the same game remains to be seen, but at this point, it does seem rather likely.
