Can I play Dragon’s Dogma 2 on Steam Deck?

As of the time of writing, there is no word on whether or not Dragons Dogma 2 is Steam Deck verified. In fact, there is not even a verification on whether or not it is playable, not playable, or unknown on the Steam page either. However, it is likely that players will be able to play this game on their Steam Deck once it comes out. Although there is a chance you may have to change some settings, you should be able to play it.

Part of this speculation comes from the requirements listed for the game. It matches some of the requirements for other hefty, newer games we’ve been able to play on the Steam Deck before. In addition, it uses Capcom’s famous RE Engine, which powered games like 2023’s Resident Evil 4, which is verified on Steam Deck. I have also run the Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creator on my Steam Deck, and it worked pretty well, so I imagine the game should, too.

Alternative ways to play on Steam Deck

If, for some reason, Dragons Dogma 2 doesn’t work well on the Steam Deck or it requires too many sacrifices to make it work, there are ways to play it on the platform outside of this. The alternative ways involve streaming the game through remote play from either Xbox or PlayStation if you own the game there.

I really like streaming remote play games on my Steam Deck from PlayStation through the app Chiaki and it runs pretty well. This way, as long as you have excellent and stable internet, is actually quite useful since it means you’ll be able to experience the game with likely much better graphics and possibly frame rate than playing it natively on the Steam Deck.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now available on Playstation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S
