Will Baldur’s Gate 3 be on Game Pass?
Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be on Game Pass when it is released on Xbox. Players will need to purchase it at its listed price on the Xbox store when it debuts on Microsoft’s console. However, neither Larian Studio nor Microsoft have ruled out Baldur’s Gate 3 eventually being added to Game Pass. So, players looking to get the RPG with their subscription are going to have to wait a bit longer.
Interstingly, Baldur’s Gate 3 was always intended to be on Xbox Series X/S alongside PS5 and PC, but some technical issues arose. More specifically, the Xbox Series S version of the game couldn’t work properly with split-screen cooperative play. This problem delayed the game until the issue was fixed. But it will release on Xbox before the end of 2023.
What platforms is Baldur’s Gate 3 on?
Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available on three different platforms. In the end, players can play the massive, award-winning RPG on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game was available on Google Stadia originally, but its shutdown renders that platform obsolete.
It doesn’t appear the game will be coming to other platforms for the foreseeable future, such as Nintendo Switch or its successor.
Was Baldur’s Gate 3 underestimated by Microsoft?
Ironically, Baldur’s Gate 3 originally had the chance to be on Game Pass, but Microsoft rejected this proposal, according to leaked court documents from the Microsoft vs. FTC case. This shows that Microsoft underestimated BG3 and passed up on the opportunity to be connected to one of the biggest games, 2023.
