Is Asuka Shikinami Langley Good in NIKKE?

Asuka Shikinami Langley made her way to Goddess of Victory: NIKKE along with three other characters from Evangelion in crossover introduced in August 2024. Collaboration characters in free-to-play games are often overwhelmingly good, though occasionally they can be frustratingly abysmal. As the only way to get her is in a Limited Pick Up Recruitment banner, players wonder if they should spend their Gems to obtain her.

Asuka Skills, Explained

With the Competitiveness skill, Asuka gets a strong buff to Shield damage. At the start of battle, Competitiveness activates, giving Asuka a 601.01% buff continuously to attack Shields. This effect only affects the shields of opponents and not the enemy itself.

Her Competitiveness skill also has an attack (ATK) buff. For 25 seconds, Asuka’s attack gets a 96.98% enhancement. This skill can be activated more than once as it only triggers when Asuka is recovering. This second effect pairs well with her Burst Skill as it recovers a small amount of health.

The Assault Tactics not only boosts Asuka, but all allies on a team. When entering Full Burst, all Fire Code allies get a 60.07% damage boost to cores for 10 seconds. Asuka also deals 30.02% for 10 seconds to Wind elements when she enters Full Burst. However, she must be in Shield status to activate this buff from the Assault Tactics skill.

Piercing Bullets is a Burst Skill that increases her Attack damage by 150.04% for 10 seconds. This skill also grants Pierce to Asuka for 25 seconds. She also recovers 3.16% of attack damage as health for 10 seconds. This pairs well with her Competitiveness skill as she gains 96.98% ATK boost when recovering.

In addition to these powerful Burst Skill effects, Asuka gets a 101.37% Hit Rate boost for 10 seconds. Assault Rifle Classes in NIKKE tend to have a low Hit Rate and ATK when it comes to damaging opponents. Asuka herself deals 18.76% of ATK as damage. When attacking a core, she deals 200% damage, however. With her Burst Skill effect, she eludes the issues that Assault Rifles have. Piercing Bullets arguably makes Asuka worth spending Gems to acquire her.

Should I pull on the gacha for Asuka Shikinami Langley in NIKKE?

Asuka Shikinami Langley is definitely an Evangelion character you should pull for in NIKKE. Asuka’s kit allows her to compete with some of the best units in the game, such as Red Hood. Her ability to enhance allies and herself, while causing a great deal of damage, makes her malleable to different units. While Shield piercing doesn’t play a huge role as of now in NIKKE, her ability to do so future-proofs Asuka if Shift Up decides to add more enemies with strong Shields.

She also supports other Fire Code allies with her Assault Tactics skill, which is always helpful. This means she works well with other characters like Alice, Bay, Killer Wife, Modernia, and Rei Ayanami.

From August 22, 2024 to September 19, 2024, we can grab Asuka, Mari, Misato, and Rei in the NIKKE X Evangelion crossover event. Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is available on Android devices, iOS devices, and PCs.
