Indie Tactical RPG To Turn Comic Con Into A War-Torn Battlefield

Recommended Videos

An upcoming indie game aims to turn Comic Con into a tactical RPG, complete with cosplaying attendees and the like. Comic Conquest will take place in a “giant comic and sci-fi convention” where attendees have been transformed into the characters they’re dressed up as, and their plastic weapons into the real thing.

Attendees then do battle on the show floor, which has been turned into a battlefield, and a war between different factions breaks out. Players can form guilds and fight for their survival (and swag, says developer Sleepy Giant).

Comic Conquest will feature work from comic book artist Jeff Matsuda, whose work you may recognize from the Jackie Chan Adventures and The Batman cartoons. In the realm of comics, Matsuda has worked on X-Men, Batman, Wolverine, The Avengers and more.

Comic Conquest will be available across web, mobile and tablet platforms in Q4 2013. It will be a free-to-play game. You can sign up here to get early access to the web version, as well as a bonus item (steak knives) when the game launches.
