Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes has received a new name after news about its development went silent for a long time. Level-5 revamped its website and blog while revealing that it has renamed the new Inazuma Eleven game to Victory Road of Heroes. The name change also came with a large overhaul of the game’s storyline.
While the green-haired Unmei Sasanami will still be the new game’s protagonist, the revamped Story Mode will focus on depicting his own story. The main storyline will have Unmei gather members for a soccer club at a new school in Nagasaki with an all-new cast of characters. Level-5 will still retain the promised feature of recruiting characters from prior Inazuma Eleven entries, but players will do that in a separate Chronicle Mode.
Level-5 also promised more versatility in the new game’s controls and displays. All platform versions will allow players to choose between horizontal and vertical play fields. Mobile devices and undocked Switches will also have a screen orientation option. The Nintendo Switch version will have the most versatile control scheme where players can utilize both the controller and touchscreen.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android mobile devices in Japan. Level-5 will publish more information about the title in Winter 2022.
