Marvelous announced a new game for the Ikki Tousen series with Ikki Tousen: Extra Burst for smartphones. The new game announcement is part of the popular series’ 20th anniversary celebration this year.
In Ikki Tousen: Extra Burst, fans of the series will get to relive the world of Yuji Shiozaki’s Ikki Tousen on smartphones. However, little is known about the game for now, other than its announcement. However, Marvelous will share more on game content, character introduction, and more on a later date. The information will be available over at the game’s official website and Twitter account.
Publisher Marvelous has worked with Ikki Tousen games for a while, dating back to Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon which released on PS2 in July 2007. The earlier Ikki Tousen beat ’em up games were kind of like Senran Kagura before Senran Kagura. The game basically got the whole costume-break system going for Marvelous, at the time. There was also Since then, Marvelous worked on other Ikki Tousen titles including a PC browser game in 2010 and currently a mobile browser game called Ikki Tousen: Burst Fight that launched in 2012.
Ikki Tousen: Extra Burst will release for iOS and Android devices in Japan in Spring 2020. We’ll get a first look plus additional details from Marvelous soon.
