The next Hyperkin retro console has been revealed. This time, it is a system that takes Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games and gives users a new means of playing them. The Hyperkin Retron Jr. is an emulation-based box for playing carts on a TV in 720p. [Thanks, Nintendo Life!]

The Retron Jr. will be a diminutive box with one slot in it for game boy carts. Each one comes with a controller that could be used wirelessly or connected to the system via its USB-C port on the front of it. Multiplayer games will apparently require multiple systems, as there is a port for a Game Boy link cable. Other ports include one for the HDMI cable and another for 3.5mm headphones or speakers.

Hyperkin tends to remember the Game Boy, when it comes to its various retro consoles. The Retron 5 had a Game Boy Advance cartridge slot on the front of the system. (The Retron 3 only covered the NES, SNES, and Genesis.) It also makes a SmartBoy peripheral for Android phones that lets you play Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges with your device.

The Hyperkin Retron Jr. does not have a release date yet.
