Final Fantasy VII Rebirth introduces a new card game known as Queen’s Blood that revolves around battling your opponent to get the most points on three lanes using cards of varying star ratings. There is even a FFVII Rebirth Queen’s Blood Tournament that you go through as a mandatory part of the story, which you can win.

The Queen’s Blood Tournament happens on the Shinra-8 ship in Chapter 5 after leaving Junon. Players can forfeit their placement if they wish, but this is a waste of an amazing tournament arc and some great card rewards. How it works is there are five rounds in total, and you pick your opponent for each round. The goal is to beat the person you face each round and make it to the end.

Here are the opponents I faced in the tournament that I recommend, but you can ultimately pick whoever you want:

  • Wize (robot dude)
  • Felix
  • Barret
  • Chadley (forced)
  • Regina (forced)

Spoilers alert! There is also a surprise sixth opponent. You should be able to beat them if you succeeded against the previous five people, though.

Best Strategies and Cards for the FFVII Rebirth Queen’s Blood Tournament

There are a couple of strategies our staff have come up with for FFVII Rebirth Queen’s Blood that can help you. First, what I like to do is the “king of the hill” strategy I came up with. Basically, there are three lanes: top, middle, and bottom. My goal is to always aim for the middle spot of the middle lane before the opponent.

What I often do is place a card in the left spot of the middle lane. Then I wait and go to another lane if my opponent places a card in the middle as well. If they don’t place one, I continue my push towards the middle spot. If they do place a card in the middle, I wait until they place a second one there and then place my second one. This overtakes theirs to give me claim over the middle. Then I place a card that takes over the middle spots of the top and bottom lanes to try and stop the opponent from moving forward on all three lanes.

The other strategy comes from our very own Brent Koepp. The Shiva card is pretty broken, only requiring a two-point spot to place. However, it is a steal since it gives about six points to almost every single lane if you have at least two blank spots on each one. This will make it hard for your opponent to win even a single lane. Either one or a mix of these strategies will decimate the foes in this competition.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for the PS5.
