Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 introduces a lot of new features to the multiplayer pantheon. One of the major additions is the ability to take an enemy player hostage and make them your meat shield in Black Ops 6. Here is exactly how to pull off this sometimes challenging feat in a multiplayer match.
What Does Meat Shield Do?
Meat shield is exactly as it sounds: it allows the player to take an enemy essentially hostage and make them your literal shield. You are then able to run around the map with someone protecting your front. This is a great way to stay alive for longer than you should in combat and possibly get some additional eliminations.
While you are taking control of the enemy player as your meat shield, they can’t do anything at all. In fact, they don’t even respawn. So, you are basically removing a player from the enemy team for a short period of time.
How to Use Meat Shield on a Player in Black Ops 6
Unfortunately, turning an enemy player into your meat shield in Black Ops 6 is easier said than done. What you want to do is sneak up behind an enemy and hold down the melee button while behind them to turn them into your meat shield hostage. I have seen some prompts where you have to hit melee twice, but that seems to be a bug.
Note that you will only have them as your hostage for a little bit. During this time, you can only use a secondary weapon like a pistol. In addition, your back is exposed and easy to take out so you will want to be careful and watch your back as best you can.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 25, 2024. The beta will run in two phases until September 9, 2024.
