Where do you find the Blacksmith in Lords of the Fallen?

Given her importance to your character in Lords of the Fallen, the blacksmith can be found relatively early in your playthrough. After finding the Skyrest Bridge, your hub area, you will reach the Pilgrim’s Perch. The Pilgrim’s Perch is a challenging yet relatively straightforward gauntlet of enemies and hazards.

Further along into the area, you will reach the Vestige of Blind Agatha next to a defunct elevator. You will continue on the path to the right where you will descend along the cliff and eventually reach the caves where the elevator descends. Activate the elevator before going forward.

Deeper in the caves you will find the blacksmith herself, Gerlinde, locked away in a cage. You must go to another nearby cave to free her. In the other cave, you will find the boss Gente Gaverus, Mistress of Hounds. She is a fairly tough boss but should be doable if you can pick off her hounds before focusing her.

Once defeated, she will drop the key and you will need to take it back to Gerlinde. Give her the key, exhaust her dialogue options, and she will reappear back in Skyrest Bridge, the hub area. Within Skyrest Bridge, you will find her shop by going up the passage to the right when facing the main Vestige Point.

How do I upgrade my weapons in Lords of the Fallen?

In order to upgrade your weapon, you will need both Deralium and Vigor. Doing so will increase the damage of your weapon. Every time you upgrade, you will need both more Vigor as well as Deralium in larger numbers and quantity. Importantly, you cannot upgrade your armor but you can upgrade your shield.

While Lords of the Fallen continues to take many notes from the soulslike formula, it diverts in several ways. When it comes to smithing, you do not require a special material to upgrade boss weapons and Deralium will work just as well on them.

Where do I find Deralium in Lords of the Fallen?

Deralium is the sole material used for upgrading weapons. They range is size from Small Deralium Fragments, Regular Deralium Nuggets, Large Deralium Shards, and Deralium Chunks. The smaller shard sizes of Deralium can easily be found by farming many weaker enemies in Lords of the Fallen as well as from various vendors throughout Axiom. Naturally, the larger Deralium Shards are increasingly rarer and difficult to come across, so carefully choose which weapon you want to take to the endgame.

Lords of the Fallen is available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
