To start the Side Quest chain that unlocks the Paint Shop, you will have to meet an NPC called Mos and start the quest titled “Desert Soldier.” Mos can be found inside a ruined building located in the middle of the desert right next to Spino City in the Tort Region. The building is next to a Water Supply Point, so you won’t have much trouble finding it. You can check out the exact spot here:

After accepting his quest, you will have to fight a couple of Wannabe Junker enemies. After making short work of them and talking to Mos, Beelzebub will recommend him heading to Spino, where he will set post. To access the second and final Side Quest in this chain, you need to progress the story until after acquiring the Jump-bot. The “Mysterious Voice” Side Quest can be started by talking to Mos in Spino City.

After heading to the location of the quest using the Jump-bot and completing it, Shion will join Spino City and open shop there, finishing the side quest chain and opening the Paint Shop for you to give some personality to your vehicles. Keep in mind that applying paint and decals to vehicles requires the use of consumable Dye items, so be careful when making a decision before committing to them. Also, make sure to restock on dye before customizing the look of your bots.

Sand Land is now available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. A demo of the game is also available.
