Shin Megami Tensei V is known for its various endings, which ask you to choose between order, chaos, and neither. However, Vengeance is here, offering the definitive version of that very same JRPG. As such, some players may be wondering if there are any new endings in SMTV Vengeance and how you can unlock them.

Are There New Endings in SMT V Vengeance?

First and foremost, there is even the question of whether or not there are multiple new endings in this version. In the base game, now known as the Canon of Creation, there are four endings. I have beaten the new storyline known as the Canon of Vengeance. As such, I am able to let you know if there are new endings or not.

Fortunately, yes, there are new endings in this version of the game. In fact, there are two endings in total for players to unlock that are new to this version of the game. So, even for the players who played the base game to 100% completion, there is something new to discover.

How to Unlock All New Endings in SMTV Vengeance?

With all of that said, though, unlocking the two new endings is a bit different than the original four in SMTV Vengeance. The first thing you must do is take the girl’s hand at the start of the game. This lets you start the Canon of Vengeance, which contains these two extra endings.

From there, this storyline is much more centered around your allegiance to the two sides of the plot. You will know the two sides because, slight spoiler alert, they travel with you for most of the story. Essentially, one person aligns with law and the other with chaos. If you side with order most of the time, you will automatically get the order ending.

Conversely, if you side with the other person and chaos in side quests and the like, you will get the other ending. But if you are like me and balance between the two often, you’ll be somewhere in the middle. When this happens, it is possible to basically pick which ending you want in the final sequence of the game, but this is very challenging to pull off. You may need to play New Game+ to get the other ending because of your choices.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
